Oatmeal Cookie Recipes

Kids' Favorite Oatmeal Cookies

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/4 cup rolled quick oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup coconut

Beat egg in medium sized bowl. Add butter, brown and white sugar. Cream well. Add flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, and coconut. Mix. Drop by heaping teaspoon onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 deg. F. for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Oatmeal Smartie Cookies

  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 pounds peanut butter
  • 9 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 pound chocolate chips
  • 1/2 pound smarties

In a large bowl beat eggs. Add white sugar and brown sugar. Cream. Add in order vanilla, baking soda, peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chips, and smarties. Mix well while adding each ingredient. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 deg. F.
This oatmeal cookie recipe makes about 12 dozen cookies. Can be frozen.

Coconut Oat Delights

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 3 cups instant oats

In a pot combine sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. Stir to a boil. Remove from heat and mix in coconut and oats. Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Oatmeal Chococlate Chip

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Cream margarine, white sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Add oats, flour, baking soda, and chocolate chips. Mix well. Drop by spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 deg. F. for 10 minutes.

Oatmeal Macaroons

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted shortening
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups oatmeal

Cream white sugar, brown sugar, and shortening together. Mix in the egg, salt, coconut, vanilla, banana, soda, flour and oatmeal. Mix continuously while adding the individual ingredients. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 deg. F. for 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown.
