Dutch Apple Pie

Here is a delicious recipe for Dutch apple pie.

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 6 to 8 juicy apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 3 tablespoons sugar

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; cut in butter. Add egg and enough milk to make a soft dough. Roll 1/2 inch thick and line greased 9-inch baking pan with the dough. Cover dough with sliced apples and sprinkle with cinnamon and molasses. Bake in 400 deg. F. oven for 30 min. or until browned. Sprinkle with sugar and bake an additional 5 min. This apple pie recipe should be served hot.
