Chocolate Marshmallow Bars NEW
by: Heather

Here's something else you can make with chocolate, marshmallows, and rice crispies if you don't have malted milk powder on hand. You can almost convince yourself you are getting one of your daily grain servings with this delicious bar. Great peanut buttery taste the kids will love as well!!!!

1/2 cup margarine or butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder

2 cups miniature marshmallows
1-6 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter
1 1/2 cups rice crispies

Cream the butter and sugar, and beat in the eggs, salt and vanilla. Stir in the flour, cocoa and baking powder, and mix well. Place this mixture into a lightly greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle the marshmallows over the top, returning to the oven for 3 minutes, or until the marshmallows are just melted. Remove from oven and cool.

While waiting for the bar to cool, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter in a saucepan, adding the rice crispies after the mixture has been blended.

Spread this mixture over the cooled cookie bar base.
