Shelley's Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

This chocolate chip cookies recipe was sent to us by Shelley.

Ingredients

3/4 cup butter flavor shortening
1 1/4 cups of firmly packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoons of milk
1 egg
1 3/4 cup of flour
3/4 teaspoons of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 1/4 cups of chocolate chips

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 370 degrees
2. Cream butter flavor shortening, brown sugar, milk and the vanilla in a big bowl.
3. Blend these ingrediants until the mixture is creamy.
4. Mix flour, salt and baking soda together in a smaller bowl.
5. Add the flour mixture to the shortening mixture. Mix the two in the larger bowl.
6. After everything is mixed, gradually stir in the chocolate chips.
7. On an ungreased cookie sheet, place a teaspoonful of cookie dough an inch and a half apart.
8. Bake the cookies to your desire:
   chewy cookies-- 8-10 minutes
   crisp cookies-- 11-13 minutes
9. When the cookies are done, cool them on a cooling rack.
