2 1/2 cups flour Beat all ingredients together in a large bowl at low speed, scraping the bowl, for about 30 seconds. Beat at high speed for 3 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. Applesauce Cake Recipe With Rich Butter Frosting
1 1/4 cups flour Cream shortening, add brown sugar and cream well. Add egg and beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce beating after each addition until smooth. Fold in raisins. Bake in greased and floured 8 inch square pan at 350 degrees F. for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Rich Butter Frosting:
1/4 cup butter Whip all ingredients until smooth. Spread evenly on cooled cake. Apple Sauce Cake
1 cup unsweetened applesauce Make applesauce, mash it smooth and allow it to cool. Wash and dry raisins. Measure shortening into mixing bowl. Cream shortening, gradually add sugar, mixing until creamy. Beat egg until light. Add to creamed mixture and beat together well. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and spices. Sift again. Add raisins and mix lightly, but well. Add dry ingredients and raisins alternately with applesauce into the creamed mixture. Fold in gently after each addition. Grease and lightly flour a 9x9x2 inch cake pan. Turn batter into pan, bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Turn out on wire rack. When cool, frost if desired. Applesauce Cake Recipe
1 egg Cream shortening and sugar together. Add well beaten egg. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture with apples, raisins and walnuts. Bake in 9x5 inch loaf pan at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until top springs back to touch.
