AMARETTO POUND CAKE

3 sticks butter (soften)
3 C. sugar
6 eggs (room temperature)
3 tsp. vanilla flavor
3 C. all purpose flour
3/4 C. Amaretto

Preheat oven on 325*.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla flavor. Mix well. Add flour alternately with Amaretto. Pour batter into greased and floured bunt pan. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cooking time may vary. Remove cake from pan and sprinkle top with confectioner’s sugar.

Note** For more Amaretto, once the cake has been cooled for at least an hour, take the stick end of a wooden spoon and poke holes through the cake. Then pour about a cup of amaretto over the top, it will fill into the holes. This is a wonderful cake to serve at holiday parties, just for adults though!!!
