Recipe Name: Pouding Chomeur (cake in sauce)

Ingredients and Instructions: This is my favorite dessert my mother used to make. It's very easy to make.

Sauce:

3/4 cup brown sugar
2 cup water
1 tbls butter
1 tsp maple flavor

In a small saucepan, stir brown sugar and water together and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in butter and maple flavor. Set aside.

Cake:

1 cup flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup cold milk
1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped

Pre heat oven to 350ºF. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until "crumbly" looking. Add milk all at once and stir just until moistened but still lumpy. Fold in apple. Spread dough in an ungreased loaf pan and pour the hot sauce over top. Bake at 350ºF for 1/2 an hour until golden. Serve hot.

Recipe Name: Texas Beef Sandwiches

Ingredients and Instructions:

1 lb. deli sliced roast beef - cut into 1/2 strips
1 T. olive oil
1 med. red onion - sliced
1/2 cup beef broth
1 T. worcestershire sauce
1 T. balsamic or red wine vinegar
salt nd pepper to taste
sliced cheddar cheese
6 hoagie buns
Mayonnaise

Heat the oil in a large skillet over med-hi heat. Add sliced onion and saute until tender. Add beef broth, worcestershire sauce, vinegar and salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Add roast beef and cook till heated through. Remove from heat, divide meat among buns. Top with cheese and heat under broiler till cheese is melted. Spread mayo on top half of buns and serve.

Recipe Name: Mexican crescent roll casserole

Ingredients and Instructions:

1 pound ground beef
1 can Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chile)
1 can tomato sauce
1 can chopped green chile
1 onion chopped
2 cups Mexican blend shredded cheese
2 cans crescent rolls

Preheat oven to temperature called for on crescent rolls. (usually 425). Brown the ground beef over medium heat, adding onion as it cooks. Salt and pepper to taste. Once meat is cooked, add the Rotel, tomato sauce, and green chile and stir together. Stir in 1 1 cups of shredded cheese and remove from heat. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough into 9x13 pan, laying it out flat. Spread meat mixture on top of crescent roll dough. Sprinkle the rest of the grated cheese on top. Lay out the other can of crescent roll dough on top. Bake as long as crescent rolls call for on can (usually 15 minutes or so), or until dough is cooked and golden brown on top. Easy and delicious!

Recipe Name: Craisen Salad

Ingredients and Instructions:

1 pck Craisens
2 heads green leaf lettuce
1 red onion slivered
1 pck mushrooms - sliced
1 advocado - sliced
1 pck slivered toasted almonds

Mix all ingredients. Poor a bottle of poppy seed dressing and mix well.

Recipe Name: Lemonade Scones

Ingredients and Instructions:

3 cups self raising flour
1 cup lemonade
1 cup cream

Mix together gently (don't overmix though)

Cook for approx 12 mins. in a moderate oven

Smother with jam and cream

Recipe Name: Penuche

Ingredients and Instructions:

3 c light brown sugar
1 c evaporated milk
1/4 tsp salt
3 T butter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 c nuts

Combine sugar, milk and salt in saucepan over low heat. Cook to 236 or until softball stage, stirring frequently. Remove from heat, drop in butter and cool to lukewarm (110). Add vanilla and beat until candy is clear and loses its gloss. Add nuts and turn into greased shallow 8x8 pam. Cut into squares when firm. Makes 1 1/2 lbs.
