Here is a selection of salad recipes which have been collected by or submitted to Gramma Cookie's Kitchen by some of our visitors.

Recipe Name: Cold Rice Salad Recipe

Ingredients and Instructions:

  • 1 cup white long grain rice (cook as directed on box)
  • 1 - 12oz pkg. frozen peas (blanched)
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 small green peppers or 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 - 4oz can small shrimp
  • 1/2 cup almonds or pecans chopped
Mix above and cover with the following dressing:
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soya sauce
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
Mix well and refrigerate.

Recipe Name: Caesar Salad

Ingredients and Instructions:

  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. anchovy paste
  • 6 drops worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard (i use grainy mustard along with 1/2 dry mustard)
  • 2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup peanut oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • parmeason
  • 3 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 small head romaine torn into bite size pieces
  • about 1 cup croutons
Mince garlic in food processor. Then add egg, anchovy, worchestershire sauce, mustard and lemon juice. Zap this. As processor is still on add slowly the oil until you hear the sound of the mixture changing, letting you know it is thick enough. If not thick enough add about 2 tsp grated parmeason. Add the dressing to the romaine lettuce along with the cooked bacon, crutons and parmeason cheese.Enjoy!

Recipe Name: Garlic Fusilli Salad

Ingredients and Instructions:

  • 2-3cups fusilli
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 tomatoe diced
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp.Miracle whip
Cook fusilli and refrigerate for 1/2hr before. Add onion,tomatoe,cucum. Toss and addsalt,pepper and garlic powder;as much as desired.Add whatever ingredients you like ex.green pepper/ lettuce.Sprinkle in vinegar and miracle whip. Refrigerate and is ready to serve in 10 mins.

Recipe Name:Crys's pasta salad

Ingredients and Instructions:

It's very easy and as well as quick!

  • 32oz. (1)bag of vegetable pasta(multi- colored)
  • 6oz. (2)can(s)of sliced black olives
  • 12oz. bottle of Wishbone Italian dressing
  • 4-tomatoes diced
Boil the noodles for about 30-40 mins., drain in a strainer, run cold water over the noodles till all the noodles are no longer warm. Pour half the amount of the noodles, tomatoes, black olives, and a 1/4 of the bottle of dressing; mix that all up and repeat except leave a 1/4 of the bottle of dressing left in the bottle . Cover the pasta salad and refridgerate no less than 2hrs. Last but not least right before you serve add the rest of the dressing, mix, serve and enjoy!!!
